Contra Golpeo 2020 AWARDS

Monday, December 28, the 2020 awards of the Contra Golpeo program directed by Giancarlo Oquendo and Ricky Rosa were held, who began with the first award of the night:

Revelation of the year: Edgar Berlanga for his achievements in this 2020 enlisting as one of the boxers of Puerto Rico which promises to give us many surprises in 2021.

COACH OF THE YEAR award given to Luis Espada, the coach thanked the Counter-Strike team and spoke of the pride of representing Puerto Rico boxing through its fighters, taking advantage of the microphones he sent a message to the new talents in front of training With this pandemic and it is STOP, THINK and MEDITATE, there are many ways to train, do not despair and take it easy.

BOXER OF THE YEAR won by JOSÉ “SNIPER” PEDRAZA his award was symbolically received by his coach Luis Espada who commented that they are ready to fight at 135lb if there is a good offer, he also commented that his next fight will be in March, and for June has a surprise for us.

PROSPECT OF THE YEAR obtained by Orlando “Capu” Gonzalez, acknowledged that the pandemic made it a difficult year to make more fights, even so he made 3 fights which left him more experience and lead him to seek the world ranking for the following year, he also assured that the 126Lb category is hot and that this 2021 will be within the top 15 of the world ranking. His next fight is expected in late February or early March 2021.

THE PROMOTER OF THE YEAR would be taken by MIGUEL COTTO PROMOTIONS since she was one of the few promoters in Puerto Rico who has sought a way to do boxing, paying attention to the government with all sanitary measures, always looking for her fighters to fight in Puerto Rico.

Finally, Cleto Reyes USA recognized Giancarlo Oquendo and Ricky Rosa as the best boxing commentators in Puerto Rico.
