Munguia sent the Ghanaian three times to the canvas. It was in the third round when the first fall occurred, the African fell to the canvas in the final of the round after several consecutive hits connected. Allotey returned for the fourth episode but Munguía took him against the ropes so Allotey had to put one knee on the canvas and the referee gave him the count of protection.
The referee asked the Ghanaian if he wanted to continue, to which he said yes, but seconds later his corner stopped the fight. The winner improved his unbeaten record to 34-0, 27 knockouts and Allotey stayed with 40-4, 30 knockouts.
