Former unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez Jr looked in great shape on Friday, weighing in at 138.8 lbs for his tune-up fight against the capable Pedro Campa this Saturday night at the World Resorts Las Vegas.
Campa (34-1, 23 KOs) came in at 139 lbs and looked in excellent shape for his big opportunity against Teofimo (16-1, 12 KOs).
“Every fighter I’ve faced, every style is different. So it’s all bout can they take a punch from me or not? We’ll see on Saturday night, but you guys are definitely going to see different outlets of me and different things I’m working on in the gym,” said Teofimo Lopez to Fighthype.
“I always practice perfecting my craft as much as possible. Anything I need to work on, that’s what I do. So it’s all about displaying that on Saturday night.
“Whether it goes two, whether it goes one, whether it goes ten, you guys got to tune in. It’s going to be a great show.
“The movement and the footwork. He has better footwork than Devin Haney, and he has greater footwork than Tank Davis,” said Teofimo about why he thinks Vasyl Lomachenko will beat Devin Haney.
“It’s not about dancing and using the whole ring. You got to know the steps, and I don’t feel like Devin Haney has that yet. I’m not saying he’ll never have it. However, the amount of people he’s been facing, his only real competitive fight was against Kambosos.
“He did what he had to do, but Kambosos respected him so much. So it’s all about things like that. I look at it like an analyst point. It just takes time for all these guys,” said Teofimo.
